In the 16th century, thousands flocked to Wittenberg to hear Martin Luther preach, and students from many countries came to enroll in his lectures. When returning home, they spread what they had learned: The Reformation was international from its onset. Later, immigrants to other continents carried books of their Lutheran heritage in their suitcases, and Martin Luther's catechisms in their hearts. The nine authors in this volume represent five continents: Africa, the Americas, Australia, and Europe. Each of them highlights specific regions as examples for Martin Luther's continued global influence.
